We listened to this podcast with our dad so he could understand OSDD/DID better and it was really wonderful. We have been watching a lot of Dr. Mike Lloyd's videos and are super excited for when he comes out to the states for training and education. We really need so much more of that out here.

It resonated a lot with us that beginning therapy with a system (or anyone) is really about ensuring that they feel safe in the relationship. The way Dr. talked about this was very soothing and nurturing, and I feel this can be difficult for many providers to navigate at times. Plus, as systems, it can be challenging to find a provider who is both system competent and also has a personality that is compatible with ours.

We appreciate the discussion about pros and cons of social media as well. It is entirely valid that some systems have their alters figured out in depth and have systems for their systems, so to speak. And, for those who don't, they still deserve to find relatability and understanding in the system community.

The last piece is I'm presently trying to find more resources on Covert vs. Overt DID, after this discussion. We did watch Jess's (Multiplicity and Me) video on it. We noticed the parallel of the argument that Covert DID may be partially due to ableism from society. It seems like there is a pattern between the low and high masking variations in autistic people, as there is amongst systems. And that it can make folks feel left out / have imposter syndrome if they can't find others whose presentation is similar to theirs. We're curious if there are other aspects of why DID may be more Covert though, besides ableism, and why that is more common than folks realize.

Thanks so much for much to process! This podcast has been really eye opening. I really appreciate that you put it together and love the guests you've had on recently. :)
